What the test analyzes

Seven report blocks, more than 400 individual findings

Each block is an independent report, updated free of charge in your lifetime web portal as the science advances.

Health-related predispositions

Health-related predispositions

Over 105 reports on genetic vulnerability — cardiovascular risk, type 2 diabetes, autoimmune diseases, certain cancer types. Shows predisposition, not diagnosis.

Pharmacogenetics

Pharmacogenetics

Over 95 reports on how you metabolize medications — statins, anticoagulants, antidepressants, painkillers. Your doctor can factor this into medication and dosage choices together with your treating physician.

Hereditary (monogenic) conditions

Over 100 reports on individual gene mutations — risk information for family planning. A positive finding always requires clinical confirmation.

How the test works

Four simple steps

The saliva sample is taken on-site at the clinic and transport to the lab is included in the price. All clinical interpretation happens in Tallinn.

What does a genetic test report look like?

In the TellmeGen Advanced web portal you'll see 400+ reports, organized into categories. Below is an illustrative example — your own results depend on your DNA.

Category

Disease predisposition

  • Type 2 diabetes Moderately higher
  • Coronary artery disease Average
  • Celiac disease Higher
  • Alzheimer's disease (late-onset) Lower

120+ disease reports

Category

Drug response (pharmacogenetics)

  • Clopidogrel (Plavix)Reduced effect
  • WarfarinSensitive — lower dose
  • Statins (simvastatin)Increased myopathy risk
  • SSRIs (citalopram)Normal metabolism

160+ drug reports (CYP2C19, CYP2D6, VKORC1 and others)

Sample data for illustration purposes. Each report in the TellmeGen portal includes, in addition to the risk score, a scientific explanation, the gene variants examined and references to the underlying research. During the consultation we go through the findings that matter to you and connect them to your family history and current health status.

This is a screening test, not an official clinical genetic test

TellmeGen Advanced is an SNP-based consumer genetics test (~750,000 variants) intended for preventive use and to support lifestyle decisions. It does not replace clinical genetic diagnostics(e.g. Whole Exome / Whole Genome sequencing in oncogenetics) and is not a basis for a medical diagnosis. Positive findings always require confirmatory testing and assessment by a clinical geneticist.

Our job is to help you understand the results correctly: what is statistically meaningful in the context of your overall health and family history, and what is simply "interesting additional information."

Before you book

Next step

Book a genetic test with a doctor's interpretation

A 45-minute consultation with Dr Saadi will help assess whether the genetic test is the right step for you — and whether a parallel microbiome analysis would be useful too.

Reminder: TellmeGen Advanced is a screening-type test that provides guiding information. Every significant finding requires medical assessment and, if needed, confirmatory tests. The test does not replace a specialist visit or treatment decisions.

Who this service is not for

Being upfront saves your time and money. This service is not the right choice if:

  • If you are looking for a diagnosis — a genetic test shows predispositions, not a diagnosis.
  • If you need a clinical genetic test (e.g. a hereditary cancer syndrome) — that is done at a medical genetics center with a referral.
  • For acute problems (severe pain, fever, breathing difficulty, injury) — contact your GP, an on-call doctor or the emergency department.
  • If you expect a replacement for diagnosis and treatment — we work alongside your GP and specialists, not instead of them.
  • If you only want a prescription or a certificate without an assessment — we do not issue those at a prevention visit.
