In-depth health assessment

Biohacking — evidence-based body and brain optimization

Biohacking is a strategic intervention in your own biology to live longer, think more clearly and feel better. Our approach is not gadgets and hype — it's personalized, marker-driven optimization supervised by a physician.

Your health map — one deep check

€1490

Before any long-term optimization, you need a precise picture of where you are today. The In-depth health assessment is Synage's deepest single service: a physician-led package that gives you a data-backed action plan for the next 12+ months.

  • Pre-visit questionnaire + audit of existing data
  • Extended biomarker panel (30+ markers) — ordering and interpretation
  • Body composition and metabolic assessment (optional 14-day CGM)
  • Lifestyle audit: sleep, HRV, movement, nutrition, stress
  • 60–90 min physician visit + written action plan in priority order
  • Follow-up visit at 3 months + plan adjustment

One-time price. Includes consultations, lab interpretation and a written plan. Installments via Montonio.

What biohacking actually is

Biohacking is the deliberate, systematic attempt to influence your physiology — not to treat disease, but to keep health markers better than "normally bad". Unlike reactive medicine, it focuses on prevention and optimization.

The term was popularised by Silicon Valley communities, but its principles — measure, intervene, measure again — are identical to evidence-based preventive medicine (P4: predictive, preventive, personalized, participatory).

Trouble starts when "biohacking" turns into product sales: TikTok ice baths, red-light panels without context, 20 supplements in the morning because Bryan Johnson said so. Our job is to separate proven interventions from expensive placebos.

5 pillars serious biohacking rests on

Before you buy cryo or NAD+ IVs, get the foundation right. 80% of results come from 20% of interventions — and those 20% are not gadgets.

1. Sleep & circadian rhythm

The only intervention that affects every biological system at once. 7–9 h quality sleep, 5–10 min of morning sun, bedroom under 19 °C, last meal ≥ 3 h before bed. Track: HRV, deep sleep, REM.

2. Metabolic health (glucose & insulin)

Unstable blood sugar → energy crashes, cravings, inflammation, faster ageing. Fix: protein-rich breakfast, carbs after movement, vinegar before carbs, 12–14 h overnight fast. Track: fasting glucose, HbA1c, fasting insulin, HOMA-IR.

3. Movement — strength + VO₂ max

Muscle mass is a metabolic shield and one of the strongest predictors of lifespan. Minimum: 3× weekly strength + 2× cardio (including 1× high-intensity intervals for VO₂ max). Track: grip strength, VO₂ max, muscle mass on DEXA.

What to measure — the biohacking baseline panel

Without data, biohacking is just an expensive placebo. Start with these markers:

  • Extended lipid panel: LDL, HDL, triglycerides, ApoB, Lp(a)
  • Metabolic: fasting glucose, insulin, HbA1c, HOMA-IR
  • Inflammation: hs-CRP, homocysteine, fibrinogen, ferritin
  • Hormones: TSH, free T3, testosterone (men), estradiol (women), DHEA-S, cortisol
  • Micronutrients: vitamin D, B12, magnesium, zinc, omega-3 index
  • Body composition: DEXA (muscle, fat, visceral fat, bone density)
  • Biological age (optional): epigenetic clocks (GrimAge, PhenoAge)
  • Continuous tracking: sleep (Oura / Whoop), HRV, steps, VO₂ max estimate

The Synage approach — physician-led biohacking

The classic biohacking mistake is one of two: copying someone else's protocol (Bryan Johnson's Blueprint, Peter Attia's routine) without your own data — or buying 20 supplements and hoping. Neither works.

The Synage approach starts with thorough diagnostics: extended blood work, genetic testing (optional), body composition, sleep and HRV. From that we build a prioritized plan — what is your limiting factor right now, and what gives the biggest benefit at the lowest risk.

  • Consultation (45 min): history, current plan, goals, risk factors
  • Diagnostics: 20–40 markers (not 5), genetics and microbiome if relevant
  • Individual plan: lifestyle → supplements → devices → (rarely) drugs
  • Recheck 3–6 months later: what worked, what didn't
  • Optional: ongoing subscription monitoring

Red flags in biohacking

Not every "biohack" is safe or evidence-based. Be careful when you see:

  • "This one supplement fixes everything" — biology doesn't work that way
  • Big promises without lab tracking
  • A stack of 20+ supplements in the morning with no rationale
  • €5000+ devices without any RCTs behind them
  • IV therapies (NAD+, glutathione) outside medical indication
  • Anti-ageing drugs (metformin, rapamycin) taken without supervision
  • "Healing" ice baths — proven only for mood and HRV, not disease
  • "Stem cells" in unlicensed third-country clinics

How the service unfolds

  1. 1Step 1 · Sensor placement (25 min)The sensor is fitted at the clinic and we set up the app together.
  2. 2Step 2 · 14 days of monitoringYou live as usual and log your meals — the data is collected automatically.
  3. 3Step 3 · Results and interpretation by emailYou send the data by email and the doctor sends back a written interpretation: which foods and routines actually affect your glucose. No second visit is needed.

Total timeline: One fitting visit; about 3 weeks from fitting to the written interpretation.

The price covers the sensor, the single fitting visit, 14 days of monitoring and the clinical interpretation by email.

Paid separately: Blood tests and the nutrition plan are not included

Who this service is not for

Being upfront saves your time and money. This service is not the right choice if:

  • If you have type 1 diabetes and need sensor monitoring for treatment — that goes through your treating physician.
  • If you will not log meals and activity for 14 days — the curve cannot be interpreted without context.
  • For acute problems (severe pain, fever, breathing difficulty, injury) — contact your GP, an on-call doctor or the emergency department.
  • If you expect a replacement for diagnosis and treatment — we work alongside your GP and specialists, not instead of them.
  • If you only want a prescription or a certificate without an assessment — we do not issue those at a prevention visit.
